Les 1: Het alfabet

Het Arabisch schrift wordt van rechts naar links geschreven en het Arabisch alfabet bestaat uit 28 letters. In de onderstaande tabel wordt het Arabisch alfabet weergegeven. Al deze 28 letters vertegenwoordigen medeklinkers. In de tabel is ook de transcriptie van de letters te zien. De transcriptie wordt in deze website gebruikt om de uitspraak van Arabische letters en woorden weer te geven met "Nederlandse" letters. Dit is natuurlijk zeer moeilijk omdat sommige letters uit het Arabisch schrift niet voorkomen in het Nederlands (of andersom). Soms zie je dat 1?Arabische letter in de transcriptie is aangegeven met 2 vetgedrukte Nederlandse letters. Deze 2 vetgedrukte letters vormen dan 1 klank. Ook wordt bij de transcriptie gebruik gemaakt van kleine letters en hoofdletters. Klik op de letter om te horen de Arabische naam van de letter uitgesproken wordt.
